You can't go to the specified record

I have a rather complex database that has many sub-reports and quite a few different pages using the tabs. On the form header there is identifying info that all the sub-forms relate to. I am not able to move to a new blank record and each time I try I get the error message "You can't go to the specified record". Please help!

I have just discovered that it is adding 2 new duplicate tables to the relationships whenever I run the main page. I don't know why or what that means, it just seems that it is not what it should be doing.

    Diane,

this error has so many causes that it's impossible to tell just by reading someone's post, usually.

Try to narrow it down yourself first. You need to narrow down the cause, and do things such as:

    • knowing the event on which the error happens
    • analyzing the code on that event to see any possibilities
    • knowing the source of the form
All of those are determinites. Try those and see if you get any closer yourself, first.

Please reply to this thread with any new information or opinions.
