    Access 97

    Hi

I am new here, so hello and apologies if I have posted in the wrong area.

I am very much a novice with Access, so again apologies if my questions may be asked in an nontechnical way.

I currently have an Access 97 database, the back-end is on a server and the front is local on a PC

    I have 2 questions:

    1. Can an Access 97 database be used when converted to Access 2007 on Vista?

    2. The front end currently connects to the backend via 'map network drive'. I no longer wish to use the server and just have the the 'front end' and the 'back end' on the one PC - can I do this and if so how do I connect the front end to the back end?

    Thanks you in advance

    Regards

    Dan

The answer is almost certainly yes. With some exceptions, most Access releases are backwards compatable. As for the BackEnd on the same PC, use the Linked Table Manager to hook them up again.
