Question Converting Access 2002 database to Access 2010

I've converted the front end of our Forms database to Access 2010 and have connected it to our old backend file with the linked table manager until all of us are upgraded to Access 2010. How do I convert the backend to Access 2010 once all of us have been upgraded and is it even necessary?

    Thanks for the help!!

How did you convert the frontend - with SaveAs? Try the same thing with backend.

Probably won't be any issue if you leave backend as mdb. Afterall, Access can connect to a variety of different database formats, an mdb is just one.
How to attach file: http://www.accessforums.net/showthread.php?t=70301 To provide db: copy, remove confidential data, run compact & repair, zip w/Windows Compression.

I'm only getting a file format choice of mdb when I open the backend file and try to do the save as. I honestly don't recall how I converted the front end. Not sure if it was a save as or if I imported each table individually. I remember reading something about importing the tables, but I'll have to find the instructions I printed to do the import. I don't use Access much, so please let me know if you can suggest any tutorials I could take to get more familiar with the newer version. Thanks for getting back to me so quickly!!

I would simply stay with the current version.

It would allow all computers to connect regardless of the version they are using. (Provided you are not going backward)

Sounds like a good idea Rain! I rarely work with Access any more and I'm just glad I got the new front-end file converted to accdb format and linked to our production backend!! Have a great day!!!

Seems to work well with the old mdb format. I had just read that new features might only be available if the data was converted to a newer format. Thanks for the help!!!

Melbourne is one of my favourite cities. Mainly because of the sport. It is certainly Australia's capital of sport and I don't think many cities in the world are more into it than they are.

Melbourne is also the world's second largest Greek speaking. This includes Greece itself.
