    Lightbulb creating an multilevel search

    Quickly

We use a paper directory to identify over 700 people who come through our doors. We want to use gender, state, district, as a way to quickly know how to identify the person. I have all of the information on an excel spreadsheet. Should I create tables for all members from the same State, same district, same gender, that all point to the name quick id and a photo?

In general, no. You should have a single "members" table, with fields for gender, state, district, whatever. That allows you to search across any/all of the fields to pull all males from NV or whatever.

Not sure if this is helpful or not, but here is an easy to follow guide regarding how to set up a search function that looks at any number of criteria you ask for. It was posted for me a while back and I've incorporated it into a number of projects since.
