No "Click to Add" column - Very Basic Question

    Hello,

I'm a new Access user. I have a large database that I'm working with (182MB, available here: http://www.ops.fhwa.dot.gov/freight/..._analysis/faf/)

I would like to create a new field in one of the tables. It seems odd to me that there is no column labeled "click to add". I can add a new field manually, and if I create a new table within this database it includes "click to add". Why don't the existing tables include "click to add"?

    Best,
    Jon

Zipping up a sample db that demonstrates the issue would be more useful than posting a URL to a site with several db's.
