The thread title refers to hypertext in a form, but perhaps this is really a table design issue? In any case, my life would be complete if a could just provide a hypertext link to the field Advisor_FK listed on the attached form: Problem is, the Advisor_FK is relational, which prohibits hypertext linking. The foreign key linking between tables is crucial because it matches up the student with the assigned advisor. However, if I have no hypertext link to the advisor's webpage, then the form user has to go to a separate table [tblAdvisor] to connect to the advisor's web page.
I'm at a loss as to how to provide that extra piece of information to the form without violating normalization and linking rules.
I'm providing screen shots as well as a link to the database. However, the DB is 2010 and for some reason, I can no longer convert it to a lower version which means many people may not be able to open the link.
And finally, at first glance the obvious choice would be to hypertext link the Department field that's listed on the main form. But then, I would be mixing student and advisor data on the same table because I'd be linking to an advisor's personal profile page from the student table. I'm a newbie but that doesn't seem wise, even to me.
