    Merge two colums

    Hi,

I have linked to excel documents into access. They contain the same header rows but of course with different data.

Example: First name: Last name: Phone number:

How do i merge the information to a new table with the same header rows and the information from the two excel files.

Example new table with: First name: Last name: Phone number:

    Br Bertrand

A Union query should do what you need (see here: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/ac...010206109.aspx). The nice thing about using a query is that it will be dynamic, meaning any changes to your linked Excel tables will automatically be reflected here.

If you really want them in a table (usually not necessary), first create a Make Table Query from one of your linked Excel tables to write all the data to a new, native Access table. Then use an Append Query to write the records from the other linked table into your new Access table. However, note that this is NOT dynamic, if you ever make changes to the linked tables.
