2007 forms with tabbed interface option

Is there any way to keep the form from expanding down and to the right ?
Effectively, a single form takes-up the entire screen real estate. Setting the width does not seem to work as well.
Also, the gridlines show and that is not very attractive.

    What's the trick here ?

    not really...

I actually like the new tabbed interface....but the fact that the window "on top" screen expands to the right so that the Close "X" control is to the far right. That's what I don't like.

I wonder, are there new anchor settings to control this ? I'd like the "on top" window to be sized according to my specs. The resizeable attribute appears to be disabled when the tabbed interface is enabled.

If I were a beta tester, I would have complained about this !!
Alas, I didn't make "the cut".
