Access 2007 not working properly with Windows 7

I have a desktop computer (Windows XP) and last weekend due to some voltage fluctuations my hard drive was crashed, so I purchased a new one and installed Windows 7 on it. After that I installed and registered Access 2007 without any problem, but whenever I start Access 2007, it goes through a lengthy process of reinstalling itself. It does not require the install CD so it appears to be installing from locally stored files. Once the reinstall is completed, everything appears to work fine. I have never faced such problem in Windows XP or Vista. Can anyone help me to fix this problem?

    Thanks.

this happens when there are two versions of access installed. is that possible?

if not, have you tried runngin a program like CCleaner to wipe out broken references and things from the registry?
