    To reduce the size of the database, you may want to run the compact and repair utility from time to time especially during the form/report development process (after the tables are set up of course).

    Actually I did that and the database is set to compact on closure anyway - but it was still nearly 2MB after compaction and nearly 900kb when I'd stripped the data - still too big to upload!

    The links you sent are very informative - especially http://www.accessmvp.com/strive4peace/ - as a middle-aged grandmother thrown in at the deep end, just what I was looking for!
