    Date Format

I'm wondering if anyone knows how I can convert a Western Date field to display it's Japanese equivalent date?

Any assistance would be much appreciated.

    Thanks.

LOOK UP "format" in the help menu. I don't know a thing about Japanese dates, but you can format date fields anyway yo want to with that function.

Thanks ajetrumpet. That's where I am having an issue. The Japanese date system is set by the year of the current emperor's reign (for example, this year is Heisei 22). So the format would be H22.11.26 for 2010/11/26 however, if I want do display a previous date of say 1975/11/26, the format would be of the previous emperor, so it would look like this: S50.11.26
I'm thinking that I may have to create a table for the complete list of conversions for the years and replace yyyy with the Japanese year. Does that sound right?

obviously you'll have to customize this. date/time fields do not allow characters, so it'll have to be text as well. Yes, that sounds right. The reference will have to be some sort of pattern matching, most likely from lookups in a table.
