    Question Archive reports.

I have a database that will be pulling 2 reports daily. I would like to digitally archive the reports. Is this doable/recommended from within the same DB or should it be a different DB that stores the reports?

The data to create the reports will probably be dynamic and changing. I would suggest keeping the reports as PDF files in a folder on your system.

That's what I was thinking. Thanks for the reassurance. I have to tell you, I am almost done building this DB, just have to do a couple tweaks and start learning about security settings and setting up end user accounts and then distribution. You have been a great help in my quest for learning Access. I really appreciate your help. Among others as well.

    Thanks again.

    Question

Could you show me an example of code on an on click event to have a button on a report header save the report to pdf in a specific file path?

I believe you will find that Reports are not interactive so a button on one makes no sense.

With ac2010 I would get one of the free PDF Printer drivers and just select that printer for your report.

If 2010 still has the new Report view that 2007 introduced, it can be interactive. I have on application where I used it and it has filtering and sorting options in the report header (don't ask me why I didn't just use a form; I guess I was experimenting with the new feature). As Allan says, Preview mode is not interactive and a button in that view would make no sense (though you could have a menu/toolbar option).
