    Question Password on old MDB

    I have an old MDB which I password protected. I have however forgotten the password and Access365 cannot open the file.
    Is there any way I can recover the data?

    Nirsoft program is better, as no need to install anything.
    Both identified the password I added to my mdb file as a test.

    @Mike60Smart Nice find.

    Do bear in mind that password retrieval from old MDB files is trivial but the same methods do not work on ACCDB files.
    For ACCDB files, the only methods involve 'brute force' attacks where every possible password is tried in turn. For a long and very strong password, this could take millions of years.

    Also the maximum password length in MDB files was 14 characters (20 in ACCDB files). You can enter more as Brett did in the video, but the extra characters are ignored!
    For more info, see my article Access Password Lengths (isladogs.co.uk)

    Hmm. Not sure why adding 3 words caused a duplicate. Now deleted
