    Question Get Item From Popup Filtered Listbox And Pass Back To Subform Item Line

    Hi Guys,



    I have a challan main form in which item to be entered in subform available in challan main form. I want to select item in subform thru onenter event by opening another filtered popup list box form bounded then it will ask to user to update qty as he want afterthat the control passes to next line and do the same till end of list like tally...Click image for larger version.

    Why the need or a popup form? Why not just edit the sub-form directly?

    I have product item up to 5000 nos. not possible to select thru combo so that i have created text box search and list box of products. I want to search as type the select product and it will get details pass back to subform and ask for qty to update. then process to next line.

    You can use a FAYT combo (Find As You Type). Lots of code examples for that.

    I *thought* combos were inherently FAYT?
    I use a combo for food description in my diabetes database and locate the required food item with a few characters, enough to be unique.?

    Yes, if you know how to start at the beginning and only want to search the bound column? IIRC, the combo 'auto expand' property must also be set to Yes but you are correct. Post 7 here would seem to handle several issues that one might come up against, which is why I suggested researching the subject.

    I know FAYT and created the same but i don't know how to pass selected line details to subform line item and pass focus to qty column in subform to increase qty and then go to next line for new item.

Please reply to this thread with any new information or opinions.
