    Form datasheet with drop box

    I have a form, in datasheet format, with the following colums; date, number, qty, item description, vendor. This represents orders for the day. At the end of the same row I would like a combo box that would look at "item description" and go to another table and bring back all the vendors that have the same item as the row where the combo box is. The other table has the following rows; item description, vendor. The combo box should be populated with vendors with items that are identical to the form.

    Use a continuous form, add your combo box

    make a query to pull all vendors that use the item the cursor is on:
    qsVendorItemList:= select * from tVendorItems where [item]=forms!fMyForm!cboBoxItem

    bind this query to the combo box

    What you describe is called 'cascading' or 'dependent' combobox - a common topic.

    How to attach file: To provide db: copy, remove confidential data, run compact & repair, zip w/Windows Compression.
