Report table: replace empty sell with text box so that I can perform a calculation

Hello. Noob here. The highlighted table cell appears as 'empty cell' in Selection type. I need to replace it with a text box, like its neighbours, so that I can do a SUM calculation, but I can't find how to do it. Thanks!

You need to eliminate the grouping. I hate automatic grouping.
Right click on the square at the top right corner of the group or try right clicking on the group border. I forget exactly what the menus look like. Perhaps Grouping then Remove from group or something like that. I have no groups to play with in any db otherwise I'd be more specific.

EDIT - might be Layout > Remove from layout.

If you want to keep the layout grouping (I also don't like them), select textbox from design tab, drag it into the layout area over the empty 'cell' and drop there. Delete associated label if you don't want it. Getting label into header section within layout is a challenge.

I agree, get rid of grouping.
