Can't delete or rename locked file.

I have an MS Access Db file, with linked tables in the same folder on a server. Record locking on. Normally the 1kb record locking file is closed when a user logs ofd, but every now and then it stays open. I have tried to delete it, rename it so it's not associated with main db file, move it into another folder with no avail and I always get this error:Click image for larger version.

I've also tried, through task manager to stop MSACESS.EXE, thinking another copy was running and I couldn't find one.

I read about one member who was asked if he had a lookup field in the tables. I do not.

Any thoughts. I already have a new version of the program running for users, but I want to get rid of the old one.

Did you only look at apps in TM or did you look in "processes" also? Could be there. If not, it could be that your network is not refreshing fast enough.

I looked on every TAB in Task Manager. It's been 6+ hours and the file is still open. Currently I am the only active user. I believe one other time this happened I was able to stop the process and that worked, but this time no.

The process could be running on a user's PC other than yours.

Process and apps are on the same tab. If you didn't scroll down the active processes list, you're not looking deep enough. I have found leftover Excel and Access processes in that section. Then what davegri said.

It doesn't show any other users on the server except me.

I don't have admin access to the server which would allow me to reboot Windows. It have made a request to our IT support to do that.

You're right, but I scrolled down down all the way in TM and also expanded some of the processes and can't find it. I'm requesting IT to reboot the Window app, as I don't have permission to do so.

I was talking about rebooting your computer, not the server

Where did I use code snippets?

This issue has been solved by our IT Admin disconnecting all users from the server and rebooting Windows. Thanks for everyone's help.
