    Default is to hide extensions?
You are meant to identify them by the assigned icons.?

I am old school, so I always set the option to show extensions.

Edit: Actual option is Hide extensions for known filetypes

As do I. So, OP must have "Hide extensions for known file types" checked.

I have icons in my task bar for quick access. In order to do that you need the executable file location, so it is possible to find it, not that I think it will help with the problem much. Surely Google will tell you where it is located for your OS version if you really need to know. Surely there is a shortcut or something in your start menu that will open the application rather than any existing db. Then you should be able to get at the properties, even if you have to start a new db that you don't intend to keep.

If nothing else in that db works then maybe it's a split db and you're not connected to the back end.
Was this report available to others before you took over? Does anything else work in that db?
