Cool Old Access program will not run on computer with Windows 11 and Office 2016.

    12/05/22.

I wrote a program for my church to record information on membership.
It worked fine. We bought a new computer with Windows 11.
Our Tech loaded the same version of Office 2016 on this new computer.
Now I get the following message when I try to open forms in my program.

error message "The code in this project must be update on 64-bit systems.
Please review and update Declare statements and then mark them with the PtrDafe attribute.”

I think it has something to do with 64bit system.

I loaded the program on another computer with Windows 10,
using Office 2016. and it works fine. When I wrote the program
on my desktop, using Office 2003 it worked. I then loaded it on
a computer running Office 2010 saved it to update to new version
and it worked fine on my desk top with 2003 and my old laptop with Office 2007.

Then I tried loading it on a new laptop, with Windows 11 and I got the same error.

The same tech loaded the new laptop with the Office 2016 version.

Again I think it has something to do with 64-bit system.

I would appreciate any help I can get to solve this problem.

Thank you advance for any help.
    Dave Carpenter.

Your tech is installing 64 bit Access. It must be uninstalled and 32 bit Access installed.
The bitness of the OS (Windows 11, 64 bit) does not have to correspond with the bitness of Access.

Alternatively, create some work for yourself and convert it to 64bit access, but also cater for 32bit access.
This user here had the same problem.

Unless you need 64bit, I would do what Dave has advised.
