Slow Report Export to rtf file

I have a report that exports very quick to a PDF but when exporting to a rich text, it take a long time.

Any ideas on what could be causing this?

    Thanks,

Would help us to help you if you showed the code you are using- copy/paste then use the code tags, highlight pasted code and hit the # button.

There isn't any code to post. I'm just opening the report and exporting to word as an rtf.

OK - Well I don't have any suggestions. I presume you are choosing the Word option on the external data ribbon? It may have something to do with the complexity of the report. Have you tried saving the export steps?

Yes, I'm selecting Word. If it was to do with the complexity, wouldn't it have a problem exporting to PDF also. It takes seconds to export to PDF but a min or two to export to rtf.

you haven't provided much in the way on information so it was just a suggestion - the process to create a pdf is different to creating a word document.

another suggestion is you are creating the pdf locally whilst the word document is being created on a server somewhere
