Blank fields in Access query maintaining position

In a query in Access I have several blank fields that are created using the Name: "" format. In design view, they appear intermingled with other non-blank fields which is the way I want them to be. However, when I run the query (that is, switch to datasheet view), the blank fields are pushed to the end. It is important that they be in the same order as in query view because the datasheet is submitted to a company requiring the fields to be in a specified order. Any way to get the datasheet view to appear the same as design view?

copy/paste your sql to a new query

the datasheet order will changed when you add new fields to the view

alternative is in datasheet view, move the columns around until you have them the way you want then save.

Be warned - it is easy to change the datasheet layout unintentionally so usual recommendation is to use a continuous form

what are you actually sending to the company? - it can't be the datasheet

I tried the alternative solution and it worked! Thanks for the suggestion!

You are right, I am not sending the datasheet to the company. Rather, I copy the datasheet and paste it into an Excel spreadsheet which they then accept.

Thanks again for the prompt reply.

another alternative is to use a continuous form

And you can export your query to excel rather than copy/paste
