    Internet Lookup

    Hi

Not sure if this is the right place for it.

Basically I have an inventory of games for older systems. I'd love something that could lookup my title and then search a games database, such as IGDB, and download the information. I know it's a quick thing to ask but, in reality, there is a lot to do there. I know there are a lot of online systems to track games but then they don't track books, etc. I know it's likely possible via IGDBs API but some direction on how to put it into an Access DB would help.

    Many thanks for looking!

Most sites that provide api’s also provide instructions on how to use them. So suggest try there first.

the principle would be to fetch the data which would normally be in the form of a string

Depending in the string structure you would then use code to create an insert query or queries to append the data to you table/s

Maybe what you want is called vba web scraping. Have never done and cannot say web database data is retrievable this way.
