    sqlstate s1t00 login timeout expired

    Hi Guys,

I have a couple of clients with access 2016 FE and SQL BE. The application has a module that re-links all the tables when it opens. Today however, I keep getting error: sqlstate s1t00 login timeout expired:

When I click ok, it pops up box with connection IP and login details, that I click ok and it continues to login, this happens randomly 1, 2, 3 or 4 times, I am connection 72 tables.

I have tested the login using the ODBC to connect and test connection, both 32 & 64bit and they work fine, even using SQL Studio Manager, this to connect with no issues

The problem I have also is I need to send out an updated version of the application, but don't want to introduce a problem to my client users?

Is there a way to identify what's causing the timeout from the application.

All research I have done have suggested doing what I have done, so I am at a loss what and how to check next steps.

    Thanks in advance
    Les

The ODBC can connect to the database, but it is possible it works fine for the first tables and then, for example through a network glitch, it disconnects for a while which could throw you the S1T00 error and let you continue after clicking OK.

Just to update, the error message has now changed to

Which is worrying in that the situation seems to be getting worse.

With the other connections showing no errors, its clearly down to Access connecting, but have no idea where to look!!

Yes, but it could be random tables it times out on, so its been 24, 48, 59 in recent openings!

If you use one single open connection, using a connection pool might solve the problem: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sql...l-server-ver16

After reviewing for a few days, it seems this is down to load issues around my location.

Thanks for the suggestions guys, always handy to know of options and other experiences in those situations.
