    Running Totals without Autonumber

I get an error when trying to DSUM a running total due to not using an Autonumber. I have a form and subform which is causing error in DSUM.

My main form has a purchase number that can include multiple company units.

Purchase #1 can have Staff unit $100 and Sales Unit $100 - So I have subform to breakdown unit purchases within total purchase. The total purchase is $200 but I have subform table that breaks down within. When I use the DSUM function for a running total of each total purchase it works when Purchase # is set to autonumber without breakdown. But since Purchase # is on subform multiple times it returns error.

    Any Suggestions?

reports can show running totals simply by adding a field to the report,
then in [data tab] set the RUNNING SUM = YES
