    Editable Subform

    Hi Guys,

I have a form as part of a tabbed subform but cannot find out why I cannot add any content when using the main form:

Name:	order_notes_issue.JPG
Views:	34
Size:	116.3 KB
ID:	47771

the master & child fields are bound to orderID.

I am sure there is something simple I am missing here but cannot see it if anyone can suggest anything to check please ?

the subform must be linked to the key(s) on the master form via subform properties:
    link master form field
    link child form field

one the subform is bound to the key, then you can add data.
(and the sub table must be keyed properly)

why I cannot add any content when using the main form:
That means you cannot add a new main form record? If so, can you edit an existing one?

Hi Gicu, oddly, testing the data in the SQL backend, I am unable to add any data, so a little confused here. I will create a new table and test again.

Does the table have a PK? When linking ODBC tables into Access if they don't have a primary key defined you are prompted to choose the unique ID for the record;if you don't the table is not editable.
