    Multi Column Report Headers

I have figured out the Print Preview column portion of a report using the down then across. How can you put a header on top of the next column when the the same header grouping is the same?

What I get (Upper) & What I would like to see( Lower) Middle Column:

I would like to set up the column heading to be repeated any time there is data from the previous column overflowing to the next with the next group to start their own header Like UM Series is shown.

copy the header across the row,
make sure you uncheck SAME AS DETAIL box , in the # of columns screen so it will keep your widths.

Thanks ranman256. Tried it, no go, either as a group header or page header.

First, you *do* realize that "Type" is a reserved word in Access and shouldn't be used for object names? Plus it is not very descriptive. "Type" of what? Better would be/might be "TypeName" or "NameType" or "TypeDescpt"

    Now, on to your question.
    --------------------------------
    1) Open the report in design view.
    2) Double click on the "Head Header" section to open the Property Sheet. Change the "Repeat Section" property to YES.

    DONE!

Did you notice that by sorting (in the report - sorting in the query has no effect in the report) on "SNum" that that Ki0 - Ki9 sorts before K2? This is because it is doing an alphabetical sort.
If you want it to sort alphabetical, then numerical, do this.

    1) Edit the query "qryBaseA". From table "Messages", add fields "Series" and "Num". Save and close.
    2) Open the report in design view.
    3) Change the sort FROM "SNum" to "Series".
    4) Add another sort - "Num"
    5) Save and close report.
    Open report in Print Preview.
    Ta-Da!!

    ssanfu, ranman256,
Thanks! Issue is resolved. Too many reserved words. Fixed with [MSGType], tblMSGType etc. removed extraneous sorting and tried the Series & Num sort. I see what it does. Thanks.
