Date Stamp On Entry of Record

I am very new to database design and form design. I am trying to add a field that will stamp the current date on a new record and write that to the table underlying the form. I have been able to add the field, add the function for the date stamp but it changes the date everytime I step on the record.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Tracey

Create a macro to set your date-stamp field to populate with the date "on change" for the form.

if you just want a date/time stamp of when the record was created, and you will never change it's value, set the field's default value to Now ().
