Output report shows scrambled data in a field

I record the details of each project I work on and use a sub-form to record one-to-many details. I have been using this module for about 2 years and the reports worked fine until recently. Now two fields are scrambled and this is from the query behind the report and cannot be read. I must have changed something and do not know how to correct it. See the three attachments. Please assist.

I think I have solved the problem. The Notes field was set to Long Text and when I changed it back to Short Text the query and report worked fine. Can anyone throw light on why it would do this?

Is this a memo (long text) field?

    Show the query SQL statement.

That is a common issue, but IIRC, it's usually a result of Grouping By on a long text (formerly Memo) field (and maybe joining these fields as well).

Yes, I think I grouped by long text. Glad I found this out. Thanks
