    Multiple fields in combo box

    Hi,

I know this is a regular question however I can't find a related thread.

I've got a form to enter data into a customer table and have created a combo box using the wizard so that it is possible to view the customer ID and surname at the same time. This works however if I try to select a particular customer the message I see at the bottom is:

Control can't be edited, it's bound to Autonumber field 'Customer ID'

All I want to do is display multiple columns and select the relevant customer to see their data.

    Using Win7 and Access 2010

    Thanks,

    spqr

"enter data into a customer table"
"select the relevant customer to see their data"

I'm not 100% sure I understand, but if you are trying to make a drop-down for purposes of navigation... to go to a specific customer, the combo-box must be in the form header, and you must choose the third option in the first page of the wizard.

Selecting the third option works fine.

    Thanks,
