    Expression Betrayal

I have an expression that is violating the laws of common decency.

It worked, everything was fine, it was happy doing its job. and now its not.

quick story, I have a report generator that uses a query to get its information (and a little vba that helps select data)
The report shows beginning balance all transactions (for selected categories) in a date range and the ending balance.

the expression that gives me the beginning balance, i think was giving me the sum of all of my transactions before the information on the report.
(which isnt mine, I got help from one of the many wonderful people on here) is

    =DLookUp("[SumOfTransAmount]","[qry_FinRptGenSUMBefore]")

I wanted the same setup with a report generator in a different area of the database without the beginning and ending balance, so I copied the report generator, qry, and rpt.

things got a little confusing when renaming the new set of objects in the new area of the report. but everything is worked out now except my expression to give me the beginning balance stopped working it only returns #error

as always thank you for the help

looks to me like the query you are showing is called qry_FinRptGen and in your dlookup you are referencing qry_FinRptGenSUMBefore
