Fields Display through a cover in latest Access Version

I have a program designed with Access 2007 and also used with Access 2004. I just installed the latest version of Access and get a puzzling problem.

I have a form with sub forms. Two of the sub forms have a colored rectangle hiding fields and buttons until after select criteria. (After criteria, selection, only certain fields/buttons display). For some puzzling reason, with latest version of Access, one field shows through the rectangle cover. When I delete the field, another field displays through the cover. Another field shows if I delete that one. No such problem in Access 2007. New version seems to require display of one field.

I would much appreciate someone telling me what is going on and how to fix it. Very puzzling.

In form design, select the rectangle or one of the textboxes behind.
Use the 'Bring to Front' or 'Send to Back' to determine what cover up what.

I tried this and it continues to want to display one of the fields. Is there something else I must do? Maybe there is some incompatibility between Access 2007 and most recent version?

Not enough information known about your setup to provide additional suggestions.
Need to see database for further analysis as June7 suggests.

I find other conflicts between Access 2007 and this latest version. Real bother. On the problem of fields being displayed when should not, I find that designing it over again works. But, have found a few other things in query criteria that don't work either. Real bother. Microsoft is negligent in doing something like this. An older version should have no trouble working in a modern version.
