Does Access have an equivalent of Process.Start?

I have given the user the facility to select a file using FileDialog. I want the facility to display the file in a separate window (not in Access) - the files could be jpg or pdf or maybe something else. So I want them to open with their "native" application so the user can view them and "hand copy" the details into an Access form (OCR is not really an option as the file contents are totally random)

If I was doing this in VB.Net I would use Process.Start - but I can't find it documented for Access

I think what you want is

    Application.FollowHyperlink

or you can use Shell object. The former would be far simpler if it works for you. I believe the caveat is that it will use the app that the file type is registered for in Windows.
