Opening PostgreSql with ODBC & Importing Some Fields from the Tables

I have a ODBC which opens a PostgreSql database, the importing tool in Access shows all the files. When I pick one file which has 20K records I get the following error message.

I only need 4 fields from the file, is there a way using SQL on a button to make the connection and only import the fields I require?

Have you tried linking to the whole table, the querying the linked table to extract the data you need?

Thanks Minty, using linked tables is obviously a lot more efficient.
