Question Tool that administrates row history of any access table

    hi,
I remember long time ago I've seen an access tool that can handle any row history. It presents the user a form where he can choose to reverse to any row version of the past.

But I can't find the tool even after some hours of searching online.
    any hints?
    thx

Not aware of a specific tool but what you are talking about is maintaining an audit trail of changes-and there are plenty of examples out there how this might be achieved

Hello Candice, what is the context to your application... how does it work and what are you trying to do?

Why revert to a version of the past?

Why not start from today then if revision is required revise what already exists to maintain an audit trail?

the customer simply wants to revert to an older field value if he decides the latest value entered was wrong.

    Customer request: version 1 issued.

Customer requests change to version 1: version 2 issued.

Customer requests change to version 2 to be that of version 1: version 3 is created with the same data as version 1.

This is how I would do it, can that work? An audit trail of versions has now been created with the client so you know exactly what they require by referring to the latest revision which is version 3.

thanks for your answers which were helpful.
I just found two sources, both are german websites but maybe helpful for anyone searching for the audit or history implementation.

    1st: https://access-im-unternehmen.de/Aen..._implantieren/
which works with macros what I don't like to work with at all

    2nd: https://www.fachverlag-computerwisse...6&wkz2=ACB5047
it seems you have to get a subscription, but they have a out-of-a box example which works fine.

    thx and good luck
