Store the key field value from a combo box unto a Table

    Hi, Everyone

I have this small form to collect data base on a table with four fields; two{2} that are foreign keys to another Table..... Reasons to run a cross-tab Query for Data information. On the form has two combo box objects with drop-down information; However what am trying to get is the number key value in the combo box stored to table and not the actually description assign the the numbered key value. When I click a btn on the form to add records to the table only the date field cements whose control source is =Date(). Can you store the key value of a combo box to a table and not the actual info value assigned to the key from a Form , for example a drop down list of names but as records are added to a table you prefer the key value

Not really understanding issue. Normal behavior would be to store the key, not description. Since the key is what you want, that's what should happen. Would need info about combobox and form settings. If you want to provide db for analysis, follow instructions at bottom of my post.
How to attach file: http://www.accessforums.net/showthread.php?t=70301 To provide db: copy, remove confidential data, run compact & repair, zip w/Windows Compression.

    Combo should be bound?
Sounds to me as if you have a table lookup for that field?
