BIG RED LIGHT. STOP. LOOK BOTH WAYS. PROCEED WITH CAUTION.

Again, saving this text string in table instead of true date is not necessary and opens a huge can of worms.

If you want "GMT" to display with format:

ddd", "dd mmm yyyy hh:nn:ss" GMT"

But if you really, really must save in table, GMT can be included in expression for UPDATE:

    Code:
UPDATE MyTable SET txtDateString = Format([MyTime], "ddd, dd mmm yyyy hh:nn:ss G\MT")

June7, sometimes people just need to find out for themselves that the stove top is hot, or the paint is wet or that they shouldn't stick metal things into the wall socket. Your advice has been given several times here by others and is not being heeded.

Thanks to all for providing useful advice, despite the snarky comments.

@euler - you have not explained why you need to store the value or what you will do with it once stored. So forgive us for making assumptions and trying to put you on the right path.

What appears to be what you believe to be the right solution is, by comparison with the normal way, unnecessarily complex

Not snarky at all, just trying to stop you digging a hole you will struggle to get out of, further down the road.

That comment was really for June7, suggesting she/he stop pestering you about why you want to do something. My message was that sometimes advice is no substitute for experience. Given that you have such a thin skin, I will add you to my ignore list so that you never have to suffer such snarky comments from me again.
