    Navigation buttons partially covered up

I have a strange problem. When viewing a form, the navigation button bar is partially obscured by the status bar. See image.
This happens on a brand new empty database, using Create / Blank Form.

Even if I turn off the status bar, the navigation button bar is still only halfway displayed. Scrolling, resizing or maximizing the window makes no difference. Can anyone help?

Looks to me like the application window is not full size, or else you wouldn't see the maximize button between the close and minimize buttons.

Not sure what app window not being full size has to do with issue. I cannot replicate issue. But then I am still using Access 2010.

So this does not happen with existing db?

I never use TabbedDocuments - I always switch to OverlappingWindows.

I would not expect the full form to show if it's bigger than the current size of the application window?

I've tried reducing the form height on a sample database but that doesn't trigger the issue.
Tabbed documents vs overlapping windows is irrelevant as well.

You are using layout view. Does it still occur in form view?

Exactly the same issue came up in another recent thread here or at one of the other Access forums.
Its definitely just a display glitch and IIRC the solution was simple but at the moment I can't remember what it was.
Will try and find the other thread

Don't know what I'm missing. 2nd pic of Database3 shows a red border around at the bottom, which is the application window border in 2016. I had to modify my image in Paint, which oddly enough seems to have removed my red line but I can tell you that it was there at first. I just made another pic using the same image capture and without any image modification the red line is there. So to me, it only looks like the app window size is too small to see the whole form. Scrolling the form isn't going to change anything either if that's what this is. Hope you find the link.

    Hi Micron
I've tried to replicate the situation described by the OP and finally succeeded
    You're partly correct I think

If the Access window is sufficiently large, the form shows the red outline and the navigation buttons as well

Reducing the Access window height & width sufficiently causes the red outline to disappear & the navigation buttons also disappear completely - no 'halfway house' is possible

However, if I then increase the width without changing the height, the navigation buttons appear partly hidden as described by the OP. Notice the thin red line is visible on the right but not at the bottom

Increasing the Access window height now restores the navigation buttons to their full glory.

Perhaps the OP can look for similar behaviour in her database

BTW I searched several forums & did a Google search but couldn't find the thread I was referring to.
However I did find another unsolved thread with the same issue: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/...f3fb1f9?auth=1

So how does one make a tabbed document larger than the application window?

Good point. I did that with overlapping windows.
Using tabbed documents, the navigation buttons appear ALMOST no matter what changes I make to the application window height or width
Changing to layout view doesn't trigger the issue either

To make this happen with TD display, I needed to do this... which is different from what the OP showed

Geez, I used overlapping form too. I knew I was missing something (which was right in front of me). Well Colin, you know where my head is at these days.

LOL. You're doing a grand job as always.
What is noticeable from post #1 is that the form is empty/unbound(?) and that the font size for all Access elements is ENORMOUS...
I assume that the scaling has been changed in to 200% or more in Windows settings ... possibly relevant?
