Conditional formatting: background colour not working

I am using Access 2016, and I have a report with a field that has conditional formatting.

The "Edit formatting rule" dialogue box enables me to set Bold, Italic, Underline, Font colour, and Background colour.

The Bold, Italic, Underline, and Font colour settings work, but the Background colour setting does not work. For example, if I select Bold, Italic, Underline, Font colour = red, and Background colour = yellow, then any content that meets the condition is shown with Bold, Italic, Underline, and Font colour = red, but not with Background colour = Yellow. The Background colour appears correctly on the preview in the "Edit formatting rule" dialogue box, but remains white on the actual report (see screenshots below).

    Preview in dialogue box:

Is this a bug in Access or is there something else I need to do to make it work?

Have you tried the same expression as another rule just for background, as a workaround?

However there appears to be more going on than that as from your pic ALL of those values should have formatting applied.?

Works fine for me, my criteria is > 6, first for same control, then for another control Field2

However if that rule is for the ordervalue, why not use the Field Value option?

    Thanks for your replies.

Ranman256, your suggestion resolved the issue. It appears that Back Style = Transparent is the default, as I did not select it, but when I changed it to Normal, the Background colour in the conditional formatting worked fine.

Welshgasman, sorry for the confusion, one of the screenshots in my original post was wrong ... now fixed.
