Report is printing SECOND "Blank" page with a gray bar at the top

Can anybody figure out why this report is printing a SECOND "blank" page -- with a gray bar at the top?

Here is what it looks like . . .

And also here is what the design view looks like . . .

Your report width, including margins, exceeds the paper that the printer is using?

    Hi

I do not believe it exceeds

ALSO . . . the "gray bar" is not part of my report design.

Could it be generated by a header/footer?

I switched off anything I could think of to remove all headers/footers.

Any way to DELETE them completely?

ALSO . . . as you can see in my screen shot, it seems the"measuring ruler" at the top . . . does not let me SHRINK the total canvas area (I tried dragging).

What about the "empty" space on the right of the envelope? Anything to do with the problem?

    Thanks for your time.

You could have cleared that up by stating how wide the envelope is? Your report is 9" wide, which would fit in a #10 but not #9, but I'll have to take your word for it.
You would not be able to move the 'canvas' much to the left because your controls are almost up to the right edge of it as it is. The headers are collapsed, so I very much doubt they have any bearing on this. It also looks like the footer is collapsed. My money is on margins + report width exceeding paper size. If your paper source is 9.5" with .5" margins your available space is 8.5, not 9.5 so a 9" report is not going to fit. This is the typical cause of what you're showing.

    Thanks for your time again.

I just tested something else . . . the HEIGHT of the report.

I reduced the unnecessary height by 1/2 " . . . and -- the report now prints on 1 page as desired.

    The length is ok. . . .

    Well, live and learn!

    Thanks again

I guess I should have said "My money is on margins + report width/height exceeding paper size." Same cause and effect either way. Truth be told, I wondered what your envelope height was when I looked up sizes but forgot to mention it. Minimum height for anything around 9" wide was about 4 1/8" and your height seems to be 3 5/8" so I thought you'd be OK. Glad you figured it out anyway.

You should have selected the correct size, as I mentioned in the other thread?
