Oh So Lost!! Unable to Import or get past set up.

I am completely lost. spent last year learning access and my db is finally ready to be shared.

    MS Access 16
    SQL Server 19 (express)

I knew it would take some figuring out how to get my db over to SQ Server but I did not think the learning curve would be so steep!!

using the SQL Server Import export tool I cant even get past the first screen

I have chosen "Data Source" as .net Framework Data Provider for SQL Server
but when I click next I get
"The ConnectionString Property has not been Initialized. (System Data)

I have been though Hours and Hours of the MS help Documentation online and still cant seem to figure out what it is that it wants

    Any help is appreciated. Thanks

    Hi,
if you want to import data from access to SQL server the data source is Microsoft Acces. So you don't have to give a connectionstring, but a file path.
But befor importing your tables and recreate your queries as views I would advise to take a moment to look how SQL server works. Make sure you know the difference between the SQL data types and the Access data types; look into the SQL recovery models (having the SQL recovery model set to full without the proper log backup strategy will flood your hard disk) and learn about SQL security settings. This will take you maybe a few hours but spare days of frustration afterwards.
