    Over-billing MS Access

I use access for company billing but sometimes we end up double billing for a product a customer bought. I have to write exclusions for each customer that is being double billed for the same product. Sometimes it is billed twice at the same price and others at a lower or higher price. I need to make my query choose just the highest price to bill and delete the others. Any suggestions would be welcome, also let me know what if any additional information is needed for your help.

Simpler solution don't let the same product sale be registered for the same client if it's unbilled.
Or if you sell multiples look up the previous price and ensure the new one is the same when the second sale is recorded.

Prevent the error don't work around it?

I agree with Minty. This isn't something you live with and adjust forever. It's critical to your business and your customers, so time to correct your automated processes and database structure to prevent this "unwanted feature" from happening.

Also, suggest very strongly that you test your revisions thoroughly. Test with good and bad data before moving the revised database to production/operations.

Well, you have given 0 info about the design of the tables, queries or code.
For a more focused answer, you could make a copy of your dB, delete all but 5 - 6 customers (change any sensitive data), but keep the customer record(s) that illustrate the problem.

Please reply to this thread with any new information or opinions.
