I have never heard of a Switchboard until just recently and was wondering when is the right time to use one.
I'm still a little unsure as to what it really is and why one would use one, so if the experts can shed some light that would be great.

Hi,
a switchboard is a kind of start-up form in your application with buttons ect. from where you can open all forms from your application.
personally I never use one. The simplest way to create a start-up form is to create an empty form, place command buttons on the form (one for every form/object you need to be able to open to work your application).
Set the caption property of the button to the name of the form/object you want to open with the form, and then set the Hyperlink address (you'll find this property in the tab "Format") to the object you want to open when clicking this button. Easy done, without programming.

I guess thats what I have going on with my database.
I have about 6-7 different forms, then each form has buttons that can be clicked that will take you to a related form or even a report.
So I guess a switchboard is pointless for moi.
