Validation Rules, I just dont want any damned comma's in the text field

You would think this could be found in a 2 second google search, but NOOOOO. Ive read on validation rules to require phone numbers have (###)-###-#### format or it sends a warhead to your computer and drains your bank account, but I just want those who cant read the tooltip, or the 48 point font note (IM NOT MAKING THAT UP, 48 POINT) on the sharepoint list itself to stop putting Last, First in the name field.

I need validation rule that requires LAST FIRST M
    Done, end. CAPS NO COMMA..
    :-)

Why not make it 3 required fields?
I'm not sure what your business needs are but it sure makes it easier than having to parse it out later on.
What if there is no middle name or its not known?

I'll bet they'll put first, last in either first or last, or even both!
One could use Instr function in Before Update event on those controls. If you find a comma, raise message box and cancel the update. They'll soon tire of being stuck in one place.

Three separate fields is by far the best solution.
If you really must stick with your current design, why not clearly state NO COMMAS?

SharePoint list input. I manage through an access DB, but this input is done by the user on a sharepoint list, so Before Update isn't an option.

    Clear to you perhaps?
It does not even say anything about Caps?, are we meant to infer that just by the LAST FIRST MI ?

Nothing to stop you converting to Caps and replacing comma for a space, two spaces for one, but cannot see how you could stop them entering First then Last?

Comes down to the old adage, discrete items of data should be stored separately.?

so Before Update isn't an option.
But Replace function is? Clean up after if you can't prevent.
