    I created a subform with all variables for the tumor_typ. I now created a query in which I selected a all fields from the tbl_Patient and only the desired fields from tbl_ tumor_typ. I added these fields in the form Patient and the Datasource as the query I created. You said I should add a button and the code mysubformname.requery

    I didn't say you should, you said you wanted one. Not sure why you need a button, it would help if you provided some images of your actual form and tables to give a clearer idea of what you are trying to do.
