Pull pivot tables in Excel from Access Database lists in SharePoint?

I know I can't pull data from the database itself now that it is linked to Sharepoint, but can I link my Excel sheet directly to the sharepoint site to pull pivot tables? And if not, is there a known work around that I could use to build an Excel dashboard using the data in that database?

add a connection to the db. (data tab , connections)
it will insert the data to a worksheet,
    run your pivot.

See if my free utility can help you, it would create pivot tables in Excel from any Access tables: http://forestbyte.com/ms-access-util...able-designer/
