Compact and repair deleted recently added objects and records

Simple database (Access 2002) has strange behavior:
When copied to different location, the .mdb doesn't show the records added after September 2019.
Also all tables and queries created after September 2019 disappeared.
When I used Compact and Repair in current database containing all objects and records, the database restored to September 2019 state: no tables or queries created after, all last year records disappeared.

Question: is it possible that the original database with all objects and records saved at the different location while using Compact and Repair?
I'm assuming the records and objects in current database I have (with no late records and objects) cannot be restored.

    Thank you,

if you used the same db to compact then all objects would remain, unless thats where the corruption was.
always make a backup before you compact in case this happens.

If this is a split db, there is also a chance that you have 2 different versions - i.e. one is connected to a different set of tables than the other. Failing that, you might have done your c/r on the wrong file - especially if it is not split. I agree though, that making a copy before running a c/r or decompile is best practice.

    Thank you all.
Actually MS Access created the db1.mdb with all existing objects and records at the same folder.
For some reason this file is not appearing in File Explorer (with all options for making files visible turned on),
but I see it in MS Access open file window, can copy and work with this database.

NYacad, can you check the rights you have to that folder? If they're not sufficient, the R/C will create the db1, but it won't be able to delete the original file & rename db1.
