    Lost in AccessForums

    Hi all.
Have been a member here for more than a year and half, yet my first post.

Have recently moved form another forum to AccessForums, but lost in how the things work.
How can I send a PM to another member? I can't find any link to send a PM, even if he's in my friends list.

Or maybe I need a minimum count of posts to be able to use PM?

    Many thanks.

Possibly PM is turned off in your profile.

Click on username at upper left of post. If PM is active for that user it will show as an option. Same if you view their profile. PM will be an option if they have it activated.

No indication there is a post number requirement https://www.accessforums.net/faq.php...ivate_messages

My profile shows it is activated.

    Hi @june7
Glad to see you here too.

Following your steps, I can't find anything that may lead me to send a PM to any member. neither found anything in my options to activate it.
As you explained it seems it may be a matter of privileges.

As far as I can tell from the FAQ, every registered member can PM.

In your profile, this option is under My Account General Settings.

    Hi Tera
Good to see you here as well.
    Try the following:
Click on Settings at the top right, then My Settings...General Settings and look at various items in the Private Messenging section

June7, I appreciate your patience with me. but Unfortunately I can't find anything regarding PM in my General Settings.
Or maybe I'm having a hard day and am missing it....

    @isladogs

Nice to see you here too and thanks for the information.
Seems that there should be a limitation somewhere. I can't find anything regarding Private Messaging section.

well, I will try to be more active to see if the limitation will be revoked after several posts.

Question might be, how many are required? I was able to find this about pm's and it says nothing about a minimum post requirement. I also saw something about the ability to email someone in the FAQ's but didn't dwell on it and haven't been able to follow through with what I thought I read. I think an Admin needs to comment. I will see if I can pm orange.

Done - but he's a moderator, not an admin so he will pass it on.

    Hi Micron
At last I’m able to engage in a conversation with you. I was actually trying to PM you.
During the past few days I was busy and couldn’t be around. Only 5 hours sleep during the past 48 hours.

It seems not only new members have not access to the PM, but also public messages are forbidden too. @moke123 kindly sent me a visitor message to welcome me here, and I was searching for more than an hour to find a way to reply.

I think during the next few days I’ll be able to post more to see if the PM works out.

Not good. IMHO, you need to work on improving that - you'll live longer. But I know it's NOMB.
I thought I had given you an email address of mine, but I guess not. These posts won't be private so they're not too conducive to carrying on a conversation. If you want to exchange and you have shared your email with anyone whom I've shared it with, then we have that in common. Thus you could get if from one of them. That list would be
    moke
    colin
    nautical gent
Point them to this thread for verification and and ask them to send it to you. If you haven't shared addresses with any of those 3, then we'll have to figure something else out.
