    Exclamation Calculated Field Not Updating Table

    Hi Everyone! I am building a database to track client invoices and payments. I have created 2 expressions within my query to calculate an invoice number (Invoice_ID + 1000) and to calculate payment date (Statement Date + 90). The calculations work in the quest and populate the forms correctly, but they do not update my main Invoice_tbl. I know that calculated fields typically should not update the tbl, but in this case I need to keep track of Invoice # and Payment Dates. Your help is appreciated!

    Not sure what to suggest re the invoice number - perhaps in form current event, make TheField = ID + 1000 as I'd say it's possibly a necessary value in a table but I don't see a need to store a date calculation. If this is for a printed invoice, the report control would be the TheDateYouNeed + 90, and that's what gets printed. If it's for display in a form too, the form field should be TheDateYouNeed + 90 (or use DateAdd function for either). Storing the date doesn't seem necessary in this case and it's usually ill advised anyway.
    - "doesn't work" doesn't help. Implement changes in copies of your database.

    in the form SAVE button or in each AFTERUPDATE event, assign the fields:

    txtboxInvNum = [Invoice_ID] + 1000

    txtboxPayDate = Dateadd("d",90,[Statement Date]) 'using field
    or
    txtboxPayDate = Dateadd("d",90,txtStatemtDate) 'using text box
