Hi everyone
Is there a way of * as excel =G:15*12 and this gives you a answer in G:16 or is this a bit more to it. As I am new to this and stumbling my way through to make a log sheet for my self at work so it's a lot easier
Thanks
Hi everyone
Is there a way of * as excel =G:15*12 and this gives you a answer in G:16 or is this a bit more to it. As I am new to this and stumbling my way through to make a log sheet for my self at work so it's a lot easier

nope. 2 different animals.
you can use * in a query to pull records
but you cannot use it in a cell (field).
Ok thanks ranman I will have to find a different way of doing it then
Not clear to me what you are asking. Do you want to use * as wildcard or as multiplication operator?
How to attach file: http://www.accessforums.net/showthread.php?t=70301 To provide db: copy, remove confidential data, run compact & repair, zip w/Windows Compression.
Multiplication (12*600= 7200) That's what I am looking for it to do. I would like to make the logsheet work this and some more out so I can punch the numbers in then turn it into a report
If you are intending to store these results in a table, that is not advised. Forms or queries should always calculate and present results from raw data. To answer the question, yes, * is the multiplication operator. Field(control)C value is formed as = Field1 * Field2
