Jump to Data from a Query Entry

I'm an access novice. AS far as I can gather so far, a query lets me compile information from my parent record database in a consolidated and concise way. This helps me present my information, but I need a way to use the query view to organize data, and then jump from an entry in the query to the dataset with all the associated information on that record. In other words, I want to jump from a query entry, to the full data form. How do I do this in Access 2007?

This tutorial is exactly what I want to do but it seems that the button method doesn't work when it is from a query:

I can add the button in design view on the report from the query, but the wizard doesn't open and I am not familiar with the script SQL menu that pops up under the button properties for its Event Procedure.

Can't use a query, must be a form bound to table or query.

Then you say you put button on a report. So are you working with a form or a report?

If you want the Control Wizard to open then first set app to do this by default. Click on the second dropdown arrow on the Design tab and select "Use Control Wizards".
